Aloha Kihei CrossFit - Ready For Anything

It's my second day back from the Reebok CrossFit Games (our version of the Super Bowl) and I am absolutely fired up.

#PROVEN

First, I want to congratulate our very own Allen Duarte for his podium finish. What an epic battle! He was forced to cut his losses early in the competition, due to some old injuries, but then fought his way back...DOMINATING the last couple events to get on that podium.

Allen has #PROVEN his fitness and is officially the 3rd fittest person in the world in his age category.

What an incredible achievement and a privilege that we get to share in that!

Please show Allen some love next time you see him!

The Games We Play

This year's CrossFit Games had some pretty major changes and shake-ups. One of the most notable was that, although great that more countries got to represent their champions, they made deep cuts to the competition roster as the days went by.

There's a lot of hot debate about whether or not this was handled correctly for the athletes and fans.

Regardless of your stance, here's what I want to share.

As we all know, life can be quite unpredictable despite all of our efforts (and even progress) to try and predict it.

Preparing for this "unknown and unknowable" is baked right into the core of what the CrossFit Games is all about... and the fittest people were still the fittest people in the end because they put in the work.

More importantly, though, this is also at the core of everything we do in our pursuit of fitness through CrossFit. We are constantly probing our weaknesses and building our strengths to be prepared to face anything.

And yet, we still never know what might be coming. This means the hard work never stops.

It's okay, though, because that's life... and because the results are worth it.

Even if you never go to the CrossFit Games, you can bet that the work you are putting into your fitness will take you closer to the podium in the other games of life.

Keep showing up!
